Rules for #anope

Our support channel is #anope at irc.teranova.net. This channel has a few rules to speed things up and keep everyone happy.

• We are VOLUNTEERS - We do not have to help you, we do it because we are nice.


• Ask concrete questions. No need for "may I ask a question?", "is someone in here??" or "I need help!!!!11". Just ask. In your interest: ask questions the smart way.


• This is #anope. We do NOT answer unrelated questions (e.g. IRCd, Stats, OS, Misc. issues)


• Do not PM without permission. Questions are to be asked in the channel.


• Do not paste! Use a pastebin instead. https://pastebin.anope.org/


• Read the bundled documentation and FAQ; These documents contain most answers. Help yourself!


• #Anope is English, try /list #anope* to see if there is a channel for your language otherwise post on our forums.


• RAW is evil. Do NOT use it and do NOT ask questions about raw, you will be banned. Yes, really.


• Be nice. We all like a bit of off topic chat but if someone is getting help, have the respect to shut up.


• No announcers, greeters, or annoying scripts/plugins/etc. They are pointless and you will be banned for them.


• The op is always right, and it isn't up for debate.
